The Douglas County Public Library is presenting special story times featuring February holidays.

On Feb. 14, Miss Kathy will read Valentine stories at 9 a.m. at Kahle Community Center, 236 Kingsbury Grade, and at 11 a.m. at the Lake Tahoe Branch Library, 233 Warrior Way in Zephyr Cove.

Chinese New Year stories will be featured at 11 a.m. Feb. 21 at the Zephyr Cove Library, and Miss Carol will read Chinese New Year stories at 9 a.m. Feb. 22 at Kahle Community Center.



Story time at the library in Zephyr Cove begins at 11 a.m. each Thursday. Children ages 3 years and up are invited to attend. For more information, call the library at (775) 588-6411 or visit douglas.lib.nv.us.

Bilingual Story Time will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library, 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd.



The event is open to children though age 8, who can have fun learning a few words in Spanish.

The library is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday. For more information, call (530) 573-3185.

The South Lake Tahoe Cancer League board of directors will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, and the general meeting and luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 28. Both meetings will be at Lakeside Inn & Casino.

Nancy Goedhart, vice president of Bank of America, will be the guest speaker at the general meeting.
