Have you and your canine been getting along lately? If you need help in establishing good conduct, enroll in Guy Yeaman’s dog-obedience class.

Yeaman uses a light-handed approach to help your dog obey commands.

The six-week course will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. each Thursday beginning this week at Kingsbury Middle School. The fee is $75.

The deadline for the submission of Ceec Abrahams Grant applications has been extended to Feb. 25. The award is presented by the Soroptimist International Sierra Nevada Region.

This is the first and final year for three grants to be awarded in the amount of up to $10,000 each. The applications and information pertaining to the grants are available on the Sierra Nevada Region Web site at http://www.soroptimistsnr.org.

Qualifying programs must submit their applications by the Feb. 25 deadline.

California lifts virus stay home orders, curfew statewide


SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California lifted regional stay-at-home orders across the state Monday in response to improving coronavirus conditions, returning the state to a system of county-by-county restrictions, state health officials announced.
