The South Tahoe High School and South Tahoe Middle School Friday Night Live Clubs will host Challenge Day Monday and Tuesday. Challenge Day is a one-day program created to provide youth and their communities with workshops and programs that demonstrate the possibility of love and connection through the celebration of diversity, compassion and positive change.

More than 200 students between the two schools will participate.

The Friday Night Live Clubs would like to thank Kiwanis and Soroptimist for supplying lunches for more than 240 people. If you would like more information about Challenge Day, visit http://www.challengeday.org.

Volunteers are needed to bring art into the elementary schools in South Lake Tahoe. There is an established program in art appreciation/art history for kindergarten through fifth-grade students. The program is staffed entirely by volunteers.

No special talent in art is needed, just the desire to help this program. A hands-on inspiration/techniques training class will be given from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday in the St. Theresa Catholic Church social hall. Volunteers are encouraged to come and get inspired to help.

For more information, contact program director Gin Caldron Stole at (530) 318-3639 or Joy Roger at (530) 573-1657.
