A fundraiser to benefit Peter Walenta with expenses incurred as a result of a skiing accident has been scheduled for Feb. 28. The fundraiser will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the California Bar inside Heavenly Mountain Resort California Base Lodge.

The event, which will include a silent auction and raffle, is sponsored by Heavenly Sports, Heavenly Mountain Resort and the winter sports community.

Sierra Green Building Association will present a community discussion on sustainable building in the Lake Tahoe Basin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Blue Angel Cafe, 1132 Ski Run Blvd. The meeting, open to the public, will inform and educate about green building.

The discussion will be led by Scott Terrell, Truckee-Donner PUD conservation administrator, and Ric Licata, A.I.A. architect, professor of architecture.
