Sen. Mike McGinness will be the guest speaker at the next regular meeting of the Douglas County Republican Central Committee, which is scheduled Thursday at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

All members elected for membership at the Douglas County Republican Convention are expected to attend. Social time is from 7 to 7:30 p.m., and the meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. The executive board will convene at 6 p.m. in the upstairs conference room.

The Windjammers Yacht Club will sponsor its annual oyster stew and clam chowder feed kickoff meeting March 14. Registration is required by calling (530) 544-3352. For more information, call or visit http://www.tahoewindjammers.com.

Kae Reed, a freelance writer, will be the featured guest speaker at a luncheon meeting of the South Lake Tahoe branch of the American Association of University Women. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Lake Tahoe Community College Creekside Room.
