The Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe is taking applications for its third annual STARS of Tomorrow High School Talent Competition.
Talent can be instrumental, singing, dancing, dramatic performance, mime, juggling – the list goes on.
The show, which is open to the public, will take place at 6 p.m. April 10 in the South Tahoe High School theater. Participants must also be available for dress rehearsal from 6 to 9 p.m., April 9.
Scholarship prizes range from $250 to $1,000, and winning scholarships can be deferred until the winner graduates. Any student in grades 9 through 12, including home-schooled students, on both sides of the state line, can apply to compete.

E-mail Gail Kolb at firstname.lastname@example.org to request the application and rules, or call (530) 545-9195. The deadline for applying to audition for the competition is March 26.
The Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra will host its fourth annual Easter Ham Bingo starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex, 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.
“The Kiwanis Club will be giving away so many hams, they will be slipping out of their hands almost as fast as greased pigs,” said Kiwanis member Tom Millham.
Each game card is 25 cents, and participants can play as many cards per game as they like.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Lake Tahoe Unified School District Blue Ribbon and Red Robin choirs.
They will use the funds to help pay for transportation and uniforms.
