The Great Basin Sierra Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is conducting walks to raise money to help end the devastating effects of MS. The walks take place over beautiful 3-mile routes and are supported with water stations, entertainment and support vehicles.

n Reno/Sparks – Saturday, Idlewild Park; registration 9 a.m.

n Carson City – May 22, Mills Park; registration 9 a.m.

Tour of ancient rock art sites

Museums aren’t the only place to see ancient history. There is a plethora of archaeological treasures amidst the spectacular landscapes in Nevada’s own backyard. To truly experience it, you can take a tour of two rock art sites (pictographs and petroglyphs) near Grimes Point, with guides from the Nevada Rock Art Foundation this Saturday, May 15.

To register call (775) 687-4810, ext. 229 (days) or (775) 782-5990 (evenings). Attendees should bring plenty of water, lunch, hat, and wear sturdy walking shoes.
