A team captain meeting for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kahle Community Center.

The community will have the opportunity to register a team, sign up on a team and drop off donations for the event.

The Lake Tahoe Windjammers Yacht Club of South Lake Tahoe kicks off the summer racing season Wednesday evening with the start of the beer can series.

It is an informal gathering of sailboats on the lake each Wednesday night to sail around the club course.

Also, club member and rear commodore Mike Robinson will have a presentation on cruising in Turkey at 6 p.m. May 22 at the Cantina Restaurant on Emerald Bay Road in South Lake Tahoe.

The South Lake Tahoe Breast Cancer Support Group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

The next meeting will be this Thursday.

The support group offers an opportunity to meet other women who are breast cancer survivors and share information and support.

An invitation is extended to all women in the South Shore community who have experienced cancer of any kind.
