Tahoe Regional Environmental Education and Lions Club of South Lake Tahoe will sponsor an ECO Fair from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 3379 Lake Tahoe Blvd., across from Bank of America and Freshies.

The event will feature environmental booths including organic barbecue and wine, natural brews and beverages, and other food booths, green clothing, art, music and educational booths. Proceeds will benefit the TREE program of South Lake Tahoe.

ESL classes at LTCC Tuesday

Lake Tahoe Community College strives to provide a welcoming environment to a valued part of the community – all non-native English speakers. The college provides them with active, on-going practice in all skills needed to gain proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, understanding American English, so that the ESL student can succeed in both the college and in the community. The curriculum is sequentially ordered, and depending on a student’s background and goals he or she may progress to the desired level.

The summer schedule for Tuesday through Aug. 26:

9 to 10:50 a.m. – Beginning English as a Second Language class the Family Resource Center, 3501 Spruce Ave.

11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. – Intermediate ESL class at the Family Resource Center.

5:30 to 8:15 p.m. – Five different levels: Beginning Literacy, Beginning, Low Intermediate, High Intermediate and Advanced at Al Tahoe School, Lyons Avenue and Rufus Allen Boulevard.
