Whittell students get a day off

George Whittell High School will not be in session Oct. 1. All teachers on staff will be attending a Teacher In-Service. There will be no school for students.

Tahoe Dance Band plays at Senior Center

Everyone is invited to attend a dance from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Music will be provided by Brian Farnon and the 17-piece Tahoe Dance Band.

The cost is $6 per person and includes wine, cheese and other goodies. There will be a door prize with raffle.

People who can’t make it to Friday’s dance should plan to attend the annual Halloween dance Oct. 26. Everyone who comes in costume will receive a prize.
