Friends of the Library will conduct its annual used book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library, 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd.

In cooperation with Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra and the Lake Tahoe Fire Department, “File of Life” magnets will be distributed to anyone interested. The File of Life is an invaluable aid to EMT rescuers in an emergency situation. It consists of a decal for the front door to alert emergency personnel and a magnet for the front of your refrigerator that is a clear plastic envelope containing medical information.

In the event of a 911 emergency it is so often a true difficulty for the rescue personnel to know about diagnosis, medications, doctors and allergies – information they need immediately to provide the best care. The magnets are offered free of charge and are strongly recommended by the fire department.

Take this opportunity to participate in a community event. Check out the books and bargains at the library and also obtain this emergency preparedness material for the benefit of yourself and your family.

For more information or for any group wishing File of Life distribution at your meeting call (530) 541-5573.
