What’s Happening- Young children will have own day

Children from preschool to third grade are invited to the 20th annual Day of the Young Child from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at Lake Tahoe Community College.

There will be a fire engine, a school bus and a police car to explore as well as arts and crafts booths to enjoy. Youngsters will be treated to a magic show, martial arts and gymnastics demonstrations and will make new friends when they meet Otto the Auto, Chipper, Ronald McDonald and other popular characters.

The event will go on rain or shine. All activities and drinks are free and hot dogs are just 50 cents.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California lifted regional stay-at-home orders across the state Monday in response to improving coronavirus conditions, returning the state to a system of county-by-county restrictions, state health officials announced.
