Whittell golfers third at Dayton Valley

Whittell found itself in a familiar finishing spot in a 3A-2A golf tournament Thursday in Dayton.

The Warriors placed third in a 10-team field won by Lowry. Top-three team scores were Lowry 405, Spring Creek 435 and Whittell 440.

“That seems to be our spot, which is good,” said Whittell coach Steve Maltase.

Hawthorne’s Foster Kenton fired a 74 for the low round of the day at Dayton Valley. Whittell, which played without Trevor Fairbank, was led by Michael Koskin and Jake Williams with 83s. Also contributing to the team’s total score were T.J. Kolesnik (85), Nick Seemack (90) and Jess Latta (99).

Whittell will play at Arrowcreek on Tuesday.
