A proud group of 23 George Whittell High School graduating senior class marched down the aisle on Saturday to the applause of a packed gymnasium.

Each of the speakers, whether Whittell Principal Crespin Esquivel or student speaker Rudy Mata, all provided words of expected wisdom, reflection and more than a little good-natured ribbing and inside jokes.

Esquivel stressed during his introductory speech that it was incumbent upon all graduates to remain responsible “digital citizens” while at the same time interact with the people beyond a computer screen.

During the reception, families congratulated graduating seniors while a video of seniors reflecting on their high school career played on a projector in the background.
