Provided to the Tahoe Daily Tribune Whittell cheerleaders show off their routine that helped them win several superior ribbons and a trophy at summer camp.

The Whittell cheerleaders returned from summer camp very successful. They received numerous superior ribbons and a trophy for their showcase. They had a great time and are now concentrating on practices and mini-cheer camp for children ages 6 to 11 that will take place Monday at Kahle Community Center.

The camp will consist of warm-up, fundamentals and learning cheers in small groups. They will perform for their parents shortly before 3 p.m. Beverages will be provided, but participants will need to bring a sack lunch. Forms are available at Kahle Community Center.

The cheerleaders also are putting together a collection drive for the South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center. During the fall they will have designated pick up areas for people to leave items they are willing to donate and the cheerleaders will ensure that the Women’s Center receives them. They will let the public know more about the designated areas when they finalize their plans with the South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center.
