Whittell senior honored for her community spirit

Sasha Silver, a senior at George Whittell High School, has been named one of the top runners-up in the 2005 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards in Nevada.

She will receive an engraved bronze Distinguished Finalist medallion to commemorate this prestigious award. Based on the number of volunteer hours, Silver also has qualified for the President’s Volunteer Service Award. This award recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country. An award certificate and letter from President Bush have been presented to her.
