Wildland fire spotted near Kingsbury

STATELINE, Nev. – All units of the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District are responding to a wildland fire on Kingsbury Grade.

The fire is on U.S. Forest Service land.

– 9:45 a.m. Update –

Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District firefighters are being released from the fire, according to police scanner traffic. U.S. Forest Service personnel remain on scene.



– 11:05 a.m. Update –

Firefighters contained the 20 foot by 20 foot wildfire around 10:30 a.m., said Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Ben Sharit. The fire was located off of Easy Street near Kingsbury Grade and was caused by a downed power line, Sharit said.
