William Anderson passed away Aug. 25, 2005, at Barton Memorial Hospital. Bill was born Nov. 11, 1948, in Moline, Ill. He grew up and graduated from high school in Hanford, Calif.

Bill moved to Lake Tahoe in 1973, where he was personally hired by Harvey Gross, and began working at Harveys. He became a dealer in 1976 and continued to deal until his death. Even though he struggled with cerebral palsy and epilepsy, he celebrated each day of his life and shared his positive attitude with all his co-workers and customers. Through his strength and determination he maintained an independent lifestyle, even riding his bicycle to work in the worst snowstorms.

He is survived by his sister, Deborah Hanes of Ohio, and his dearest friend, Veronica Mayerson. He was a kind, gentle, generous, sensitive man, who will be terribly missed by his friends at Harveys and Harrah’s.

A celebration of Bill’s life will begin at 2 p.m. Aug. 31 at Harveys Top of the Wheel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to any children’s charity.
