William ‘Billy’ Spencer

Former longtime South Lake Tahoe resident, William “Billy” Spencer, died suddenly July 22, 2006, of an aortic aneurysm. He was 53.

Billy lived in South Lake Tahoe for 24 years and left for Palm Springs, Calif., in 2002 because, “you never have to shovel heat.” He was married to his high school sweetheart, Nancy, for 33 years. They moved together to Tahoe for a year of skiing and stayed for almost a quarter of a century. Billy loved his family, his friends, coaching his sons’ baseball teams, skiing and boating.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; and sons, Christopher of Palm Desert and Daniel of Crested Butte, Colo. He will be missed by his family, friends and co-workers.

Memorial services were held in Palm Springs on July 29 and a memorial service is planned at South Lake Tahoe at a later date.
