The deadline for entering the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe’s annual car sweepstakes is April 26, at which time 25 finalists will be drawn at random from a maximum of 1,500 tickets sold. The drawing will take place at the service club’s weekly meeting at Harrah’s Tahoe special events center.

The 25 finalists will be guests of Rotary at the May 3 meeting, where each will choose a key. But, only one key will unlock one of the two cars being given away – at 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4×4 or a 2006 Toyota Prius Hybrid (EPA 60 mpg city). The lucky key holder will choose between one of the new cars and a cash prize of $25,000.

This year there will be a second -place prize, a week in Maui plus airfare for two.

The annual car giveaway is Rotary’s major fundraiser, which makes possible the club’s high school scholarships and community service projects such as Christmas Cheer, Coats for Kids program and the Boys and Girls Club, to name a few. With every $50 ticket purchase, you’ll receive coupons with various offers from area restaurants and golf courses. Tickets are available from any Rotarian.

For more information visit the club’s Web site at or call Karla Peuler at (530) 577-5661.
