Wind advisory in effect for Wednesday, likely more snow

TAHOE BASIN, Calif. — A wind advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13. There is more snow predicted for later this week, including the possibility of 2 to 4 inches accumulating on Friday.

The advisory comes on the tail of a Veteran’s Day storm that left Tahoe covered in snow.

Snow has accumulated down to the lake for the first time this season.

Tahoe ski resorts are reporting 4-6 inches of snow from Monday’s storm.

Wednesday’s forecast includes a “slight chance of rain and snow showers before 10am, then a chance of rain showers between 10am and 4pm, then snow showers likely after 4pm.” Winds may reach up to 45 mph.

Multiple sources are predicting snow showers on and off through the rest of the week, with 2 to 4 inches of snow possible Friday. The snow level will generally stay under 7,000 feet for the rest of the week.

Many of the local ski resorts may see 4 to 8 inches of new snow by the weekend.
