Wind advisory issued for Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for the greater Lake Tahoe area.

The advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. tonight to 7 a.m. Thursday.

Northeast winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts of up to 35 mph are expected after midnight. Wave heights could reach three feet and small boats prone to capsizing should remain off the lake until conditions improve, according to the advisory.
