A lake wind advisory remains in effect through 11 p.m. tonight for the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph by late morning will shift to the west in the afternoon, according to a National Weather Statement. Expect waves of around 3 to 4 feet during the morning and afternoon with higher wave heights near 5 feet along the east shore.

Small boats will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.
