Wine for cycling and sustainability

Apres Wine Company is hosting a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday at 3668 Lake Tahoe Blvd. to benefit the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition, a nonprofit organization committed to helping build a more healthy and sustainable Lake Tahoe through non-motorized transportation and recreation.

Ten percent of all wine, food, bottled wine and gifts will be donated to the coalition.

“We are grateful to Barbara and her partner JP for recognizing the Bike Coalition’s mission being aligned with their own commitment to purchasing wines from companies using sustainable practices in producing their product,” said Ty Polastri, president of the bicycle coalition.

The event is part of the Tahoe Bike Day Parade & Festival activities scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Ski Run Marina. Following the Festival, Apres Wine Company will host “Wine, Bikes and Song” from 5-7 p.m.
