Wining and dining raise funds for the community

Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe put on its best dress for the 34th annual Evening of Food and Wine Tasting, The Best of 2004. This year’s event took place Nov. 5 at Harrah’s Tahoe.

Guests at the fund-raiser were wined and dined by 27 wineries and 17 local restaurants. Among the restaurants were Alpen Sierra Coffee, Beacon Bar & Grill, Caesars Tahoe, Café Fiore, Carina’s Catering, Chase’s Bar and Grill, Cork and More, David Walley’s Resort, Elegant Affair Catering Co., Gold Hill Olive Oil Co., Harrah’s Tahoe, Hot Gossip, Ivano’s Italian Restaurant, Lake Tahoe Catering Co., Mirabelle, Nephele’s Restaurant and Riva Grill.

Wineries were Alzante, Beringer, Boeger, Bogel, Chamelon, Charles Krug, Chateau Rodin, Coulson Winery, Echelon Vineyards, Grgich Hills Cellars, Linwood Vineyards, Jodar Winery, Jewel, Mardrona, Macchia Wines, Mc Kenzie Vineyards, Paul Hobbs Winery, Purple Wine Co., Renwood, Silver Oak, Silkwood, Silverado, Stag’s Leap, Steel, Talbott Vineyards, Tahoe Ridge Winery and Wooden Head.

All the money raised at the event is given back to Tahoe to support the community.
