Winter solstice gathering


The Rev. Lucie King, LCSW will host a Winter Soltice Eve Gathering from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 20 at the Tahoe Paradise Park Clubhouse. The offering will be a love donation. For reservations and directions call (775) 588-3762.

Winter Soltice is the traditional Yule celebration of the shortest day of the year. Everyone will gather together as a community to release things of the past and set intentions and goals for the future through prayer, meditation and celebration. Everyone is invited to join in and light a candle for the promise of each lengthening day and dance around the Yule log. Participants should bring a treasure of nature to decorate and bless the Yule log such as a sprig of pine, holly or other winter greenery; something to sit on such as a lawn chair; drums, rattles, etc.; a piece of fruit to share; an open heart and a loving spirit.

King was been celebrating life and helping others in discover and claim their own power since 1970. She is a known lecturer, facilitator and counselor who performs marriage and spiritual commitment ceremonies with caring and flair.
