Woman accosted after grocery shopping

Gregory Crofton, Tahoe Daily Tribune

A man pulled a small silver revolver on a woman and demanded cash and jewelry as she walked home from Safeway on Saturday afternoon.

The crime occurred at Rufus Allen Boulevard and Pickett Avenue at 3:30 p.m. The man drove up alongside Sarah Clark in an older white Ford Mustang and started up a conversation, police said.

He pulled the gun on Clark, 22, of South Lake Tahoe, after she refused to take a trip with him to Reno. Clark told the robber she had nothing. He threatened her before he drove off saying he knew where she lived and would kill her if she reported the crime to the police.

The woman described the suspect as white, 25 to 30 years old, about 180 pounds with brown hair, a mustache and a soul patch. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, black jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at (530) 542-6100 or Secret Witness at (530) 541-6800.
