Woman allegedly kidnapped, raped by ex-boyfriend

A woman accepted what was supposed to be a friendly ride home from her ex-boyfriend but was allegedly kidnapped and raped by the man.

The 24-year-old South Shore woman was walking home on Pine Boulevard Saturday from a job interview in the Stateline area when Moises Galicia, 21, reportedly approached the woman in a light blue Isuzu Rodeo and offered her a ride home.

Police said the woman accepted the ride but became afraid when Galicia turned and drove in the opposite direction of her home. Police said she told Galicia again that she wanted to go home but he reportedly said he wanted to talk.

After driving around in Nevada, Galicia took the woman to an apartment at the 2400 block of Ponderosa Avenue where he allegedly raped her. The woman, who reportedly had her shirt torn, escaped the apartment Sunday morning and called the police.

Investigators arrested Galicia for kidnapping, false imprisonment, rape and violation of probation. Sexual assault exams were conducted on the woman and Galicia at Barton Memorial Hospital. Galicia is being held in El Dorado County Jail without bail.
