Woman evacuated by chopper after collision on Highway 50

Axie Navas / Tahoe Daily TribuneA Ford colllided with a motorcycle about noon on Friday at the intersection of Highway 50 and Lodi Avenue, backing up westbound traffic almost to Al Tahoe Boulevard.

A Ford sedan collided with a motorcycle that was heading west on Highway 50 on Friday, injuring both the rider and the passenger of the motorcycle.

The female passenger was evacuated by helicopter shortly after the crash that took place about 12:18 p.m. According to Detective Doug Sentell, she was breathing but unconscious, and had a possible broken leg.

The male rider of the motorcycle was driven to Barton Health. Police didn’t report any injuries to the driver of the Ford.

The vehicle was traveling south on Lodi Avenue when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Highway 50 and collided with the motorcycle.
