Woman found dead

Tribune

A Stateline woman was found dead in her apartment and her husband is in custody.

Debbie Bariames, 35, was dead when Douglas County sheriff’s deputies responded to a welfare check at the apartment complex on Market Street. Deputies would not say who called or what prompted the welfare check on Saturday at 8:55 p.m.

Nor are they releasing any details surrounding the cause of death. An autopsy is scheduled for today in Washoe County.

When deputies arrived at the apartment they found a 10-month-old who did not respond to stimuli. The male infant was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital before being transported to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. The child was listed in stable condition Sunday night.

George Bariames, 36, was booked into Douglas County Jail on child abuse and neglect charges. Bail was set at $25,000.
