Woman found unconscious at Lake Tahoe dies

A woman found floating unconscious at Lake Tahoe on Monday night died at Barton Memorial Hospital.

Family members and friends gathered today at the home of Debra “Debi” Lynne Wilson who died as a result of a personal watercraft accident off the shores of the Tahoe Keys.

The 51-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m. Monday after reports indicated cardio pulmonary resuscitation was performed by a member of a sailboat crew on the water.

The circumstances of the accident are unknown. It’s under investigation by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.

Wilson worked at Lakeside Marina and served as a ski instructor at Heavenly Mountain Resort for 14 years, the time she spent in Tahoe with her husband Tom. The couple raised three children, Paul, Kelli and Kyler.

Wilson was described by family and friends as a fun loving, good hearted athlete with a zeal for life at Lake Tahoe.
