Woman goes from hospital to jail

A 57-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman who investigators believe intentionally set fire to her mobile home was arrested Wednesday after being released from the hospital.

Rosemarie Galli, 57, was booked on a felony charge of illegally burning a structure. The fire occurred April 30. When firefighters arrived on scene, smoke and flames were coming from the rear window of Galli’s residence in the Tahoe Verde Mobile Home Park. Firefighters found Galli unconscious in the living room of her residence suffering from smoke inhalation.

South Lake Tahoe Police Detective Larry Olsen said an investigation of the residence revealed traces of a flammable liquid and newspapers were spread throughout the house. Galli was in the hospital from the time of the fire for unrelated medical reasons, Olsen said.
