SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A 24-year-old Watsonville woman was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital with complaints of pain after being struck by a hit-and-run driver near McP’s Irish Pub & Grill about 1:45 a.m. Jan. 2.

The woman was struck in the shoulder by a early 2000’s silver Ford Quad Cab pickup truck traveling west on Lake Tahoe Boulevard at about 40 mph, said Lt. David Stevenson. Although the impact separated the passenger side rear view mirror from the vehicle, the driver kept going, Stevenson said.

After reading a police report, Stevenson said he could not determine whether the woman was hit in front of McP’s Irish Pub & Grill or in front of the stalled convention center and condominium project near Stateline.

In November, the South Lake Tahoe City Council approved the construction of a pedestrian boardwalk in front of the project site because of public safety concerns.

Police ask anyone with information regarding Sunday’s incident to call the department at 530-542-6100 or Secret Witness at 530-54-6800
