The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on the whereabouts of suspected fleeing felon Sandra Kay Hunter. A felony warrant of arrest was issued for Hunter in early February as a result of her suspected embezzlement of more than $100,000 from a former employer. Hunter failed to turn herself in to authorities as ordered.

Hunter, 60, is described as female, Caucasian, approximately 5-foot, 9 inches tall, approximately 175 pounds, heavy build, brown eyes and shoulder-length dark brown hair.

Sheriff’s office officials said Hunter is believed to be hiding to avoid apprehension, as she recently moved out of her residence in Carson City, leaving no information about her relocation or whereabouts. It is unknown if Hunter is still in the local area or not.

Douglas County Secret Witness is offering a reward of $250 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Hunter in this case.

Anyone with any information regarding the possible whereabouts of Hunter is urged to call sheriff’s investigator Greg Rooney at (775) 782-9926, or the Douglas County Secret Witness line at (775) 78-CRIME (782-7463), or the the Douglas County dispatch center at (775) 782-5126.
