Woman uninjured in car rollover

William Ferchland

A 51-year-old Stateline woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after her car rolled into a tree on Highway 50, a Nevada Highway Patrol officer said.

Esperanza Cruz was given a blood test to determine the alcohol level in her body, the officer said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at 6:30 Thursday morning along the highway between Lake Village Drive and Sewer Plant Road.

The officer said Esperanza was traveling 65 mph in a 35 mph zone.

“She lost it and when she did her vehicle went clockwise,” Trooper Roy Hutchings said.

The car, a 1990 Eagle Talon, ended up on the passenger side with its bottom against a tree, he said.

Esperanza was wearing a seat belt and not injured, Hutchings said.
