Woman wins award

Denise Heller, an employee of the South Lake Tahoe Safeway Store No. 1842, recently received a Community Pride Award from Safeway for her volunteer service to South Tahoe Middle School Club Live.

During the past three years Heller has volunteered many hours and served as a chaperone on numerous trips. In recognition of her service to the club over the past, Safeway has made a donation of $250 to Club Live. In a separate ceremony she was recognized for her work at the annual Club Live awards ceremony in June.

Heller’s daughter, Kristin, has served as a leader of Club Live during the past two years and has been a member for three years.

Club Live is the California middle school program that promotes a healthy lifestyle free of drugs, alcohol and tobacco through high energy alternative activities.
