Women found dead outside casino parking lot

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of two women believed to have fallen from the Harveys Resort and Casino parking garage Monday morning.

The incident occured around 1 a.m. Monday and involved two women in their 30s who climbed on top of a planter box before jumping, according to police scanner reports.

Law enforcement officers were looking into the possibility of the women being high-rollers and losing a lot of money.

“I can’t comment on any of it,” said Sgt. Lance Modispacher. “I haven’t been told anything.”

Harveys security declined to comment. John Packer, spokesman for Harveys and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, could not be reached for comment before press time.
