Women’s center to host gala

Staff reports

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center will hold its 12th Annual Sunset Gala Bali Bash fundraiser on from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 17, at the home of Dr. Sean Degnan.

The Women’s Center will use the home’s Bali design as a central theme for the gala.

The event will feature local fire dancers, tropical mixed drinks and a “Most Fabulous Flip Flops” contest. Attendees can enjoy fine wines, great beer, Tahoe’s best hors d’oeuvres, desserts, classical guitar and a impressive silent auction. The silent auction will feature products, services and art donated by supportive local businesses and individuals. This event is sponsored by Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Harveys Resort and Casino, Barton Health, Paradise Real Estate, ReliaPro Painters, Creegan Builders, El Dorado Savings Bank and Merrill Lynch.

The gala makes it possible for the Women’s Center to serve more than 2,000 people each year with services for domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.

Tickets to the event are $50 and can be purchased at http://www.sltwc.org/2011sunsetgala.html or in person at 2941 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Businesses or individuals interested in donating food, items for the silent auction or taking advantage of sponsorship opportunities can contact Sarah Sanchez, Development Coordinator, at 530-44-2118 or via email at ssanchez@sltwc.org.
