Pathologists at Barton Memorial Hospital will host a free workshop to address speech, language and swallowing issues in the adult population at 7 p.m. Aug. 7 at the El Dorado County Library, 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd.

Speech pathologists are trained to help individuals who experience speech articulation problems, memory difficulties and decline, cognitive issues, voice disorders and swallowing problems. In addition, there are many new and helpful ideas for individuals who have suffered from a stroke, have a degenerative neurological disease or family members caring for an aging parent. Participants will learn new ways to enhance communication in themselves and/or with loved ones. Pathologists will be available to answer questions and discuss concerns.

For more information contact Susanne Bull or Traci Kennedy at (530) 542-3000, Ext. 4743.
