Workshop is for caregivers

The Nevada Caregiver Support Center and the Douglas County Senior Center will conduct a workshop for those caring for someone with dementia titled “Coping with Challenging Behaviors.”

The workshop will take place Tuesday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane in Gardnerville.

The workshop is designed for professional and family caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease or related memory challenges. Strategies for managing challenging behaviors such as wandering, repetitive questions or statements, and any outbursts will be discussed. Snacks will be provided.

The state of Nevada Division for Aging Services will fund the meeting, which is offered at no charge to family caregivers and $10 to professional caregivers. To register and for more information contact the NCSC at (775) 784-4335.
