Yacht club plans activities for March

Provided to the Tribune

Although the idea of boating on Lake Tahoe is still just a dream to most South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club members, there are several winter activities planned for the month of March. A full-moon Snowshoe Tour will take place at 6 p.m. March 14, beginning and ending at the Beacon Restaurant for no-host cocktails and dinner. Snowshoes can be rented for a nominal fee at Camp Richardson Resort. For further information call Richard Kuns at (530) 542-3688.

Club members and friends will gather at Snow Beach at Heavenly Ski Resort at 9:30 a.m. March 15 for the monthly Yacht Club Ski Day. Call Elton Stone at (530) 542-1339 for additional information.

Celebrate the “wearin’ of the green” with a St. Patrick’s Day Party at the Clubhouse in the Keys Marina March 17. A 6 p.m. social house will be followed by a traditional Irish potluck dinner at 7 p.m. A show by Irish dancers will complete the evening’s festivities. Cruise Captains Randi and Lee Szromba request that you call Jean Jenkins at (530) 577-7181 for reservations and to let her know the dish you will bring.

The South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club meets year-round and serves members in both California and Nevada. An active member of the Pacific Inter-Club Yachting Association, the club is open to both boat and non-boat owners who are interested in good times. For membership information call Dale Nielsen at (530) 544-1115 or visit our Web site at http://www.southlaketahoeyachtclub.com.
