Yacht Club plans summer luau


Aloha shirts and muu muus will be the dress of choice as members and friends of the South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club gather for an island theme barbecue at the Round Hill Pines Beach Resort.

The event is planned for Aug. 25. The staff at the resort is preparing a delicious meal of grilled teriyaki marinated London Broil and honey-mustard chicken breast, served with beans, salads and roll for $16 per person. A no-host cocktail party will start at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served buffet style at 6:30 p.m.

Participants can come by board or by auto. A number of boats can be accommodated at the dock, depending on water level. Additional boats can beach on the north side of the dock. Round Hill Pines Beach Resort is located on the lake side of Highway 50 between Round Hill and Marla Bay in Nevada. Look for the gate. The $6 parking fee has been waived for event attendees.

The South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club serves members in both California and Nevada and is open to all who are interested in boating, community service and good times. Boat ownership is not a requirement. For information regarding membership call Commodore Karl Klopatek at (530) 544-5046.
