A 13-year-old boy was killed at Lake Tahoe Wednesday evening when the personal watercraft he was riding crashed into a ski boat.

According to South Lake Tahoe Police reports, the driver of the 18-foot ski boat was headed toward the El Dorado Beach boat ramp at about 5:40 p.m. when he heard the small watercraft hit his boat.

The 26-year-old, unidentified driver pulled the boy aboard and began CPR until he was joined by other personal watercraft operators. The victim was taken ashore and met by members of the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department.

The victim, whose name had not been released at press time Wednesday night, was transported to Barton Memorial where he was pronounced dead.

Police reported there was no indication that alcohol was involved. The cause of the accident had not been determined. The crash is under investigation.
