Stefanie Hatcher was recently honored at a luncheon of Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe for being acknowledged as Young Woman of the Month for March.
This mature high school senior has given her all to academic challenges, taking only the most difficult college preparatory classes.
“Getting that only B was a huge upset for me,” Hatcher said. But being No. 2 in her class is still a great accomplishment.
Hatcher has been recognized for her achievements in science by Soroptimist and is a Nevada Silver State Scholar. She is also an active participant in both the pep band and the concert band, playing both the oboe and the clarinet. As a member of the Nevada Thespian Society she has performed in several plays.
Three pieces of her art are on exhibit at Lake Tahoe Community College and her art has been displayed at the Governor’s Youth Art Show. She will attend the University of Washington in the fall and is looking forward to pursuing a career in business or law.
