Registration open for High Sierra youth softball; volunteers sought

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Registration is open for High Sierra Softball which serves South Lake Tahoe.

Signups for kids ages 5 to 16 started at the beginning of the month and lasts into late March.

The cost is $90 for minis and $115 for minors/major-aged players through March 21 and includes, sweatshirts, jerseys and visors. There is a $10 discount for siblings.



First-time players need to present a copy of their birth certificate.

Players need a glove, black pants and cleats. Soccer cleats are OK but no metal spikes are allowed.



Coaches, volunteers and sponsors are also being sought.

At 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 10, a dinner event at the Flight Deck will be held for those interested in learning about ways to help the league.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, an all ages skills clinic/gear swap will be held at South Tahoe High School’s Gold Gym. Participants are encouraged to bring gently used gear.
