Adult, youth, high school ice hockey winter league forming

As the first fall hockey season at South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena winds down to the playoffs, the next winter season is right around the corner.

Youth, adult and now even a high school hockey league is forming. Sign-ups begin Dec. 8 for all league and end Jan. 5, 2003. Registration forms are available at the rink.

The format will be much like the fall season. The adult league runs from Jan. 13 through April 17 and includes 14 games plus the playoffs. Most of the games are weekday evenings. Teams are available in advanced and beginner/intermediate divisions. Teams may only include a roster of 15 players.

The cost is $215 per player and $105 for goalies. Fees cover all ice time, referees, scorekeeper, youth donation and jerseys.

The winter “super” season for youth ice hockey includes 12 games, playoffs, practices and tournaments.

The season runs Jan. 13 through April 13. Games occur on weekends, practices on week nights.

The newest division is the high school division, which includes Carson, Douglas, South Tahoe and Whittell. The teams will play in future tournaments.

The cost is $125 per player and $50 for goalies.
