Aerial Perspective wins 30 and Over title

Tribune Staff Report

Keith Llewllyn scored 19 points and Charley Segroves added 18, as Aerial Perspective downed Edgewood, 60-53, to win the Men’s 30 and Over championship in recent South Tahoe Parks and Recreation league action.

Aerial Perspective (1996 champs) regained the title from Edgewood (1997 champs) on clutch foul shooting down the stretch, according to AP’s Robert Cosmi.

“Every time we play those guys, it’s a war – they don’t quit and we don’t quit. It was never more than a two- or three-point game. Everybody plays tough and knows what we’re capable of doing, which makes for tight games,” said Cosmi, who credited the foul shooting of Cam Carmichael and the defensive/rebounding input of Rick Walters, Cuz Cullen and Carmichael. “Also, Keith and Charley were hot shooters. They changed up their defense, coming out on us more than usual. It was tight and see-sawed back and forth.”

AP took a 29-28 halftime lead on nine points from Llewllyn and eight points, including two three balls, from Segroves. Edgewood’s Jerry Williams countered with 11 of his team-high 17. But no other Edgewood players scored double digits.
