Bijou Golf Course sees two aces in a week

In less than a week, there have been two aces at Bijou Municipal Golf Course in South Lake Tahoe.

The first happened last Thursday, when South Shore resident Rick DeVries aced No. 4. DeVries used a 7-iron and a Nike ball on the 143-yard, par-3 hole.

Then on Monday, Paradise, Calif., resident Gil Gilbertson aced No. 9, a 145-yard, par-3 hole. He used a 5-wood. It was the first career ace for the 77-year-old Gilbertson, who has been playing golf since he was 14.
