Bruso collects first pro hit

Tribune and Stars reports

Saturday was a night of firsts for second-year minor-leaguer Greg Bruso.

The former South Tahoe High pitcher earned his first victory for the Huntsville Stars, but that was second to what Bruso accomplished with his bat against Chattanooga.

The 23-year-old collected his first professional a hit — a single — during the Stars’ six-run first inning. Bruso pitched six solid innings to even his Huntsville record at 1-1 as the Stars won the Southern League game over Chattanooga.

Bruso scattered nine hits while striking out three and walking two in winning his 13th game while dividing his time among two Double-A teams and one Single-A club.
