Chamber golf tourney has openings

The chamber of commerce golf tournament on Thursday at Edgewood had two team openings as of Monday afternoon and tournament officials are eager to fill the vacancies.

Teams consist of four players and the cost per team is $600, which includes breakfast for each member and a chance to win numerous prizes throughout the day.

Check-in is at 9 a.m. and the tournament begins with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. An awards banquet is tentatively scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Each entrant is automatically entered for the grand prize, which is a getaway to a Resorts West destination somewhere in the world.

There is also a putting contest, closest-to-the hole contests and hole-in-one contests. Make sure to tell tournament officials when you sign in where you drove from because there is also a “longest drive contest.”

If you are interested in playing in the tournament, call the South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce at (530)542-5255 or the Tahoe-Douglas Chamber of Commerce at (775) 588-4591.
